Construction Office

The Borough Construction Office is responsible for ensuring all construction work in the Borough complies with the requirements of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.  Residents are urged to contact the Construction Officer prior to beginning home improvement project to inquire if a permit is required.


The Borough Construction Office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 AM through 4:00 PM.  Permits, applications and fees can be paid Monday through Friday during regular business hours 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Before you hire a contractor to work on your home, please make sure they are properly licensed by checking the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Website at http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/Pages/default.aspx





Please have your permit number available when calling to schedule an inspection.  Calls for inspections must be received prior to 3PM in order to schedule the inspection for the following day.

  • Building, Electrical  and Plumbing inspections are completed on Monday and Wednesday between 12:00PM to 4:00PM

  • Fire inspections are completed Tuesday and Thursdays between 09:00AM and 11:00AM

Municipal Permits


Municipal Permits are required for fences and concrete.


Zoning Applications


Zoning Applications are required for any and all property improvements.


Forecloser/Vacant Property Registration/Complaints

Ordinance 2017:04 to protect the health safety and welfare of the residents of the Borough of Magnolia, all vacant, abandoned, and foreclosed properties will need to be registered.
