Borough Residents Invited to Memorial
Day Parade & Contests
MAGNOLIA, NJ --
The Edwin I Johnson American Legion Post #370 and Magnolia
Recreation Committee are co-sponsoring various Memorial Day contests
for all Magnolia children.
There will be a coloring contest
open to all children from
age 5 through 2nd grade. Children can use crayons, colored
pencils, markers, or paints to color a template page.
Another type of coloring contest is open to all Magnolia children
who are currently in the
3rd through 5th grades. Children will be required to create a
picture or image on a sheet of paper which depicts and/or helps
residents understand and remember the importance of Memorial Day.
The contest for grades
through 8th will be a for children to write an essay based on
the following question: "What does Memorial Day mean to me?"
Entries must be received by 3:30 PM on Friday, May 25th. They
can be submitted to the main office at Magnolia Public School or the
borough offices at the Borough Hall. There is a limit of one entry
per child and they must be a resident of Magnolia.
will be announced at the reception immediately following the
Memorial Day parade and ceremony on Monday, May 28, 2018.
All residents, participants, and their families are encouraged to
march in the Memorial Day parade and attend the ceremony at the
Magnolia Memorial. The Memorial is located at 430 N. Warwick Road in
between Magnolia Public School and the American Legion building. If
